Frequently asked questions

Security and Architecture

Is SQLinfo secure and compliant?

Yes. We take data security extremely seriously. SQLinfo is ISO 27001 certified, ensuring that our information security management system (ISMS) meets the highest international standards. We undergo regular audits to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your documentation.

What data are you storing?

We store definition of database and associated text description you input. There is no data in SQLinfo, only definitions.

Does SQLinfo store my database credentials?

Security is our priority. Since our local agent handles the connection, your database credentials remain stored securely on your own server or machine. SQLinfo’s cloud platform never sees or stores your passwords.

How SQLInfo connects to my databases?

SQLinfo uses a local downloadable agent. This agent is the only component that connects directly to your database within your infrastructure. It extracts only the metadata (table names, columns, types) and sends them securely to our platform. Your database never needs to be exposed to the public internet, and your sensitive data remains entirely on your premises.

Product and Features

How can I get back my data?

You can export into csv your data at any time.

Which database engines does SQLinfo support?

Currently, SQLinfo provides native support for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. We are actively working on expanding our compatibility to include other popular SQL and NoSQL engines in the near future.

How does the automatic schema import work?

SQLinfo local agent connects to your database to extract metadata (tables, columns, types, and constraints). It does not read your data, only the structure (schema). This allows us to generate a visual representation and documentation without ever accessing your sensitive records.

Can my team work on the documentation simultaneously?

es! SQLinfo is built for real-time collaboration. Much like a Google Doc, multiple team members can edit descriptions, add notes, or organize the schema visualization at the same time. Changes are synced instantly across all users.

Can I share the documentation with non-technical stakeholders?

Definitely. You can share access to specific projects or export views to help Product Managers, Business Analysts, or stakeholders understand the data architecture without them needing to write a single line of SQL.

Is there a limit to the number of tables SQLinfo can visualize?

SQLinfo is designed to handle everything from small startups to complex enterprise schemas with hundreds of tables. Our interactive ERD tool allows you to filter and group tables to maintain clarity, even in massive databases.
